Environmental and Sustainability Statement

Being friendly to the environment and our community are not new for Unique Litho. We have always been serious about our role in supporting programs and implementing environmental manufacturing processes that conserve and protect the environment. We are committed to operating in an environmentally responsible manner which includes the use of renewable energy, recycling, and maintaining the quality of our environment to reduce our carbon footprint. Unique Litho complies with and strives to exceed compliance with all federal, state, and local rules and regulations regarding environmental, health and safety.

We encourage the use of FSC, SFI, & PEFC certified papers as well as others from well managed forests. We encourage the use of recycled papers and make sure to recycle all scrap paper we generate.

Unique Litho is committed to sustainability across the board, environmentally as well as to our employees and community. We support the needs of our clients and maintain a competitive advantage while proactively working to protect the environment.

Our production efforts include:
• Recycling all production paper waste, office waste, metal printing plates, plastic containers, and wood pallets. All used ink and solvent waste is removed and re-used as a fuel in other manufacturing processes
• Use of thermal plate technology and digital proofing that reduces or eliminates chemical processing.
• 100% alcohol-free in our pressroom
• Use of no/low VOC inks, water based ink jet addressing
• Use of new low VOC cleaning solvents and commitment to testing of lower VOC solvents as they are introduced, for inclusion in our processes
• Replacing lighting fixtures with lower wattage units; use environmentally friendly bulbs; and switching several units to occupancy sensors to reduce energy use
• An established regular maintenance schedule for all equipment in the office
